That being said, here are a few photos taken before the incident.
Of all the daffodils growing in our yard, the Poeticus-Actaea are a favorite of mine. Also known as the "Pheasant's Eye" daffodil because of the small yellow cup edged in red. The flowers have a spicy fragrance. A little past their prime in this picture.
The pink pine cone flowers on the ends of these evergreen tree branches caught my eye.
Like almost everything else, the hyacinths bloomed early and were as pretty and fragrant as ever.
Bloodroot blooming in our neighbor's woodland area. The name comes from the red color of its roots. One of my favorite early bloomers although the flowers are short-lived.
That's it for now. Can't be accused of not posting at least once a month. New camera in my hot little hands.
Happy May Day To All Of You!
Beautiful photos, and look forward to many from the new. I know several folks who have had similar incidents with their cameras/purses/food/even a blouse that a friend was returning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteHey Donna, that was a good trick to get a new camera! Lots of pretty things there for you to enjoy this spring. See, spring finally came to see you. Yippee!
ReplyDeleteThat's great!!! Have a lovely photography time! Gabriella from London!
ReplyDeleteI've driven away with my purse on the roof of the car, and a cup of Tim Horton's coffee, but I don't think ever with a camera. Although I would like a new camera....hmmmmm...
ReplyDeleteI love those daffodils, have never seen them before...what zone are good for? Mine have just started to poke out of the ground. I've never seen pink pine cones either....looks like something coloured up for breast cancer campaigns!
Missed you.
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I haven't planted anything outside yet. We are right on Lake Superior so we still have a couple weeks until it's safe to plant. I have started my tomatoes and peppers indoors though!
ReplyDeleteAs for the peonies we have a letter from the original homeowner that says they were planted in 1908!
Heidi, luv this bit of information about the age of your peonies. I'll be looking for a post from you with pictures of them in bloom. That is....if it ever gets warm enough on the shores of Lake Superior. Beautiful up there. I'm in NE WI...Green Bay.
DeleteI would have been so upset, but then that's one way to get a new camera! Our family always tells the story of my aunt who went to pick up a birthday cake at the bakery; she put the cake on top of the car while she rummaged in her purse for her keys. She remembered the cake only when she turned a corner and it came sliding down her windshield:)
ReplyDeleteLovely spring bloomers!
I've never seen such abundant hyacinths. Beautiful. I've left the purse on the top of the car thing. Fortunately someone found it right away and returned it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a new camera (though a drastic way to do it). Your spring flowers are beautiful and make me envious (you know, Florida, no spring flowers....hope there are some left in CO where should be next month.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that happened to your camera. I'm glad you were able to get another one. I love that daffodil, too. I planted some bloodroot, and it laid its leaves down, and they died back. Hopefully, it is just dormant.
Bummer on the camera girlie! I will keep that in mind! Hope you get a new one soon so we can see more great photos like these!
ReplyDeleteI can completely believe that you left your camera on your car. I left my cell phone on the trunk of the car and drove home. Guess what? It was still there when I got home.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, but a new camera can be fun too.
Sorry to hear what happen to your camera.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Spring photos. I love your daffodils. That pink pine cone flowers looks like it is Christmas time. My first time to see those ones.
Happy Mother's Day to you.
Hugs from down under.
