Today is Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day -- a day when garden bloggers from all over the world share what's blooming in their gardens. It would be difficult to find a nicer garden blogger than Linda at Slow Growing in Scotland.
I went back and checked my GBBD post for April '09, and found that the none of the daffodils or hyacinths had bloomed, the anemones had no flowers and there was only one crocus bloom. The lungwort, brunnera, and glory-of-the-snow were barely out of the ground.
Come and see what's in bloom this year on April 15.
This is P and N's view of Star Apple Orchard.
Spring and summer will fly by quickly.
September will arrive and we'll be picking apples.
I know, I know...I'm rushing the seasons.
Oh, Donna, you are so cute!!! You have beautiful garden flowers to show! I love that Lungwort! The leaves are so pretty with the spots! I have never seen it here, sadly...will havet o look up info about it! I have two speckled leaf plants and just adore them also!!! They are so alluring to me!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!!!
Oh...it will be so fun to dream of that apple orchard being so full and ready to eat!!! I've always wanted to travel to north Georgia to the apple fest in Ellijay. One day I will get there!!! :)
Lovely blooms Donna. I planted anemone several years ago. I didn't see it this spring. I need to check again - if I can remember where it's planted. LOL
ReplyDeleteGood morning Donna, Thanks for commenting on my GBBD post. Yellows and purples are some of my favorite colors... lovely little group!
ReplyDeletethese are so cheery ... spring is definitely ahead of schedule this year ... at least here it is.
ReplyDeleteWow you do have a lot blooming, and you didn't have snow all that long ago. I've been noticing how so many gardens from your part of the country have just whizzed right past ours here with what's blooming. I bet you are excited to see all your flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful blooms and I'm so glad you started blogging when you did. You will always be special to me. My first blogging friend.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many flowers blooming aready. What a wonderful post and a wonderful time of the year. YEAH!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat pink flowering Pulmonaria was worth sharing...must source it out for my garden;) If I were participating today in GBBD, there would be a photo of snow because my little beauties have been covered by our big snow yesterday. Sickening!

Lots of great colour in you gardens already! That lungwort looks suspiciously like something I have in my garden (well, will have, it hasn't even come out of the ground yet), which I've always wondered what it is. Maybe I need to post some of my unknowns when they come up & you can help me identify them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a year makes! Beautiful. I especially love those windflowers.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but have a soft spot for daffodils. Just read a Whitman poem this morning about daffodils! And then there's the plumeria.....gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDonna -- don't wait to blog -- blog early and often! We miss your beautiful pictures when you don't!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see you no longer have snow, Donna! Lovely blooms are now gracing your yard--hooray! The seasons do rush by so fast...it's amazing how fast time seems to go, isn't it?! I have Brunnera but it isn't blooming yet...I'm still waiting! Your anemone is gorgeous. That's something I'd love to have in the spring. The orchard view is gorgeous, but you're right--don't rush apple picking! It'll be here soon enough. I'm sure the little blossoms on the apple trees will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Donna. Spring has sprung!
ReplyDeleteYou have some stunning spring blooms here. Spring in your garden is breathtaking! The color of those hyacinths is so deep and very fetching to behold.
ReplyDeleteDon't apologize, Donna! If you were to visit my garden, you'd find it's really quite small--that's what close-ups are for on blog posts:) All your spring bloomers are so lovely; hyacinths are one of my favorite...well, and daffodils...and the anemones... My bulbs are all blooming much earlier, too, and the crabapples are now in bloom, at least two weeks earlier than the last few years. I think Mother Nature is making it up to us for the long winter:)
ReplyDeleteI will be picking apples too, but my goodness, we only have one tree, and I cannot imagine dealing with the apples from so many trees! Beautiful flowers too.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Donna, what a surprise to see my name in your post! I'm honoured (blushing) to be mentioned in this vein.
ReplyDeleteLife is so busy just now I'd forgotten about GBBD until I saw your post. You have absolutely gorgeous things blooming in your garden just now. I was just thinking that I need something to fill a gap in my front garden where I've removed a Heuchera that got too big for its boots, and I now see from your photos that it's a Brunnera that I want.
Lovely orchard view - can you show us it again when it's in bloom?
So funny about #4. Went to work the day after and told everyone that my boyfriend was a grandpa. Everyone know what I was talking about. Hope he stays!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some of the same plants: Raspberry Splash pulmonaria, Delft Blue hyacinths, and Variegata brunnera.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous blooms, Donna. I love daffodils and hyacinth and really want to plant some in my garden before the winter. The delft blue hyacinth is my favourite. Great pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. Have a nice day always.
gorgeous photos! I'm a huge daffodil fan and can't remember when I last saw one growing in a garden...they're not really Florida-friendly flowers.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe how fast your bulbs recovered from the snow (commenting on your previous post). Isn't it interesting how differently each part of the U.S. is "behaving" this spring. Seems like many in the north are ahead of last year while down here in the south we're a little behind last year. We're catching up quickly though! I love your gorgeous bulbs. And that apple orchard!
ReplyDeleteHi there Donna, sorry it's been a while. I was so so very busy. But I needed all of you, I've missed out on so much. So I'll try to catch up.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header (it is you right?).
And yea the most wonderful time of the year is spring. For sure.
Hugs Dagmar
