Meet the Rougeux family from Neenah, Wisconsin. They have a snowman in their backyard that is 18 feet tall and measures 12 feet in diameter.
The photo is from the Appleton Post-Crescent and if you're interested in how the snowman was built, you can go here. The snowman was started in early December after the area received a 14 inch snowfall and it was finished two days before Christmas.
Frosty has his own Facebook page. It can be found by searching for The Snowman Project.
Now put on your snowpants and get outside and play in the snow!
Cool! and love the pic of sweet Audrey! Wish we had enough snow for a giant snowman.
ReplyDeleteWow, my first time to see a snowman such as big as that. What a great job they did! Wish we have snow on our winter so we can build a snowman but unfortunately we dont have. We have to drive about 5 hrs to get to the snowy mountains.
ReplyDeletethanks for the visit and comment. I really appreciate it."Dinner will be at 7:30 pm. Hope you can come and join us"..hehehe
Wow, that is what you call a snowman! How fun.
ReplyDeleteThat's some snowman! But I'll let someone else go out in the snow and play. Me? I'm too cold! You're right, I actually do love boring old January. It's so nice after the madhouse we call December. And remember, I work at Kohl's so I *really* need a break from the holidays! Go ahead and google Jarlsberg Cheese Dip, it's easy and delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat is some snowman!!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here, but us wimpy southerners are happy that it's supposed to get up to 45 degrees today.
Hi Donna. Let's see, I could make a mud-man here on our "no-lake". But thanks for the reminder that it is possible to go outside and play in all seasons! That was quite an amazing project. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's huge! I wish we had some snow to play, still just rain here.
ReplyDeleteHoly moly, how long will it take to melt that snowman? :)
ReplyDeleteCute photo... I am enjoying the balmy weather here. 40 degrees!
Rosey
Wow, that is some snowman! Unlike the others who commented that they had no snow, we have plenty for a big snowman. But when I went out with granddaughter last Thursday to build one--at her insistence--the snow was too powdery to stick together.
ReplyDeleteIt is supposed to get over freezing by mid-week--hooray! But I imagine whatever snow melts will be replenished before the end of the month:)
ArtCricket2 - This photo of my mother out in the snow is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteEden - I don't think it would bother me if all of our snow was 5 hours away.
Bonnie - I'm better at writing about someone else playing in the snow than I am about actually getting out there myself.
Msrobin - Thanks for the reminder about Jarlsberg Cheese Dip.
sweet bay - 45 degrees would be a wonderful spring day for us. Enjoy.
Sallie - Mud-man - no-lake.....you made me laugh.
Catherine@AgardenerinProgress - Be careful what you wish for. Opening an umbrella is easier than shoveling snow.
Rosey Pollen - 40 degrees? Are you trying to make me jealous? Although I think some of that "warmth" is coming this way.
Rose - I prefer fluffy snow to the wet heavy stuff, but it doesn't make a good snowman and disappoints the kids.
What a fun and ambitious project for a family! It occurred to me that my kids have not made many snowmen in their lives, and now they are grown. Darn! Well, a postage stamp yard would not yield much of a snow creature anyway.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's some snowman, Donna! Haven't made one in years ... shame on me :(
ReplyDeleteSue - maybe one of your children will move north and they'll be able to build snowmen all day long:)
ReplyDeletejoey - I don't get out in the snow to play as often as I should. Once I'm done shoveling it, playing in it doesn't appeal to me.
Gosh this is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless. That's some snowman!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I've never seen anything like that! I can see why he would be sore from working on it. Thanks for the laugh and the encouragement that we can all enjoy winter!
ReplyDeleteHi sweet soul, I thought you deserved this. Do pick it up at my blog if you like it. Hugs Dagmar
ReplyDeleteWow, what an undertaking. Bet they had fun doing. Be interesting to see how long it takes to melt. We have 46 today and some of our snow is melting. Thank goodness before we get more.
ReplyDeleteThat's one way to get the snow off the ground! We are above freezing today with a touch of thawing but it will take awhile to get rid of all of ours.
ReplyDeleteWow. That is one impressive snowman. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, look at that huge good looking snowman! When I was a girl, I played in the snow. I guess I did when my kids were younger, too.
ReplyDeleteI was in and out of it a lot helping our daughter move the last few weeks. Now, I just want to be inside where it's warm.
By the way, I love the photo of your mother!
ReplyDeleteNow, I had heard that Wisconsin had snow but this is over the top! That's a ton of creativity!
ReplyDeleteNow that is really tooo goood
ReplyDeletelovely !
wow...that's worth a drive up north just to see ! it sure makes our snowmen look wimpy !
ReplyDeleteThat is totally amazing! What else can I say?
ReplyDeletegreat family pics donna!you have a very good talent, like my mum.
