Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - December 15

This was the view out the airplane window as we left the frozen tundra last Friday and flew off to San Diego. Fat chance of finding anything blooming down there or in my garden.

In a matter of hours, we were at the beautiful Hotel Del Coronado drinking hot cider, soaking up all the history and enjoying all the blooms.

Carol at May Dreams Gardens is the gracious and lovely host of Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day. Be sure to visit her and see how you can join in and share what's blooming (or not blooming, as in my case) in your part of the world. It's fun, you'll enjoy it.

  4. Love the photo in San Diego. I always find it surpising that we can start the day in the frozen north and a few hours later we can be somewhere warm and sunny.

I hope your trip was fun and that we get to see more pictures.

  7. Hope you are having a fun trip. If you do the tourist things like the zoo & Sea World you should see some lovely plants...usually they are labelled.

  8. What great lengths to which to go to have blooms, lol. Beautiful, just beautiful. Pansies/violas are my winter fav. Flowering cabbage/kale makes quite a show, too. I guess that is alyssum along the edges. All great.

  10. Oh how funny this is. One minute your into the snow and (almost) the next your in this beautiful warm place.

I wish you all the fun you can imagine Donna. How long will you be gone for?

  11. Have a wonderful time in sunny and warm San Diego! Sorry about my blog photos not loading. I don't know what could be wrong. But yesterday I had problems with Blogger not letting me comment on some blogs, so I just gave up. So far today, so good (but you're the first). So please try again and let me know if it's still a problem for you.

  12. HI, Donna! Thank you for popping in .
Those are lovely blooms. I love pansies. That must be very cold in your place. At least you got out and enjoyed a warm and sunny place for a change. Here, today, it is 40 degrees C. It is so hot and the aircon has been running since morning.

Yes, we have Hellmann Mayonnaise here but I haven't tried it yet because I normally buy the Kraft. Love to try it one day.

I will tell my daughter of your visit in her blog. Thanks for spending time there. She will be glad of your visit.

    Have a good day always.

  19. What a contrast that must have been - hurtled from winter to summer. We spent a few days in San Diego when we did a house exchange with a family from LA - loved it!

Our worms won't be near the surface now - we have frost at last.

  20. How nice to escape the cold! I'm looking out the window right now to see fresh snow. Pretty, but too wet and cold for me. Believe me, Ohio is not usually warm enough for flowers all the way into December. We just got lucky this year. Those photos were taken December 3rd, and then we had a hard freeze that took them all down. Boohoo!
