It was fun reading about it.

Rosey Pollen - He had more stamina for walking because he didn't have kids to look after like you do.

Gail - I only this year became aware of spiderwort and so was surprised to find a field of it growing so close to me.

sweet bay - The photo wasn't very good, but still worth posting, I thought.

Kate and Crew - Come January, I'll let you know how jealous I am that you're in Florida.

NellJean - Can't thank you enough for stopping by. Hope to hear from you again. The info about Lycoris squamigera is appreciated. Bloggers often mention Brent and Becky's Bulbs, so I guess I better get over there and take a look. Would love to have "Naked Ladies" in the garden:)donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06950476333013336671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1466749561761906021.post-60780734147147270372009-07-04T11:56:35.768-05:002009-07-04T11:56:35.768-05:00You asked about crinum lilies; they are cold tende...You asked about crinum lilies; they are cold tender bulbs growing in zone 8 or warmer, a few in zone 7. A good substitute would be Lycoris squamigera. Brent and Becky's Bulbs shows a map of where they grow that reaches pretty far north.

You may know them as 'Naked Ladies' or 'Surprise Lilies' as the foliage dies down in late spring and a bare stem comes up in late summer bearing pink blossoms, which are only a little smaller than crinums.Jean Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09000315400392984647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1466749561761906021.post-65029525730716762052009-07-03T07:34:49.952-05:002009-07-03T07:34:49.952-05:00Newly come to your blog, by way of someone else wh...Newly come to your blog, by way of someone else who linked to it, I enjoyed about 25 posts, 'met' your grandson and your parents and appreciate your flowers.

I was not aware of Muse Day, a lovely idea.Jean Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09000315400392984647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1466749561761906021.post-50462866331389458722009-07-03T06:16:43.259-05:002009-07-03T06:16:43.259-05:00What a great poem.
